Teeth grinding or “Bruxism” often occurs during sleep and most people are unaware that they grind their teeth. This is usually cause by anxiety and stress.

If you suspect that you grind your teeth, you should consult your dentist. The most common solution that your dentist can provide you is by using a mouth guard.

Here are other things you could do to stop teeth grinding:

- Alcoholic drinks tends to intensify grinding of teeth, so avoid this drinks.
- Reduce the consumption of drinks like colas, coffee, and chocolate.
- Avoid chewing gum.
- Holding a warm fabric in front of your earlobe against your cheek relaxes your muscles in the jaw.
- Don’t chew pens and pencils or anything that is not edible.
- Discipline yourself to avoid clenching your teeth. For instance during daytime, try to control grinding by putting your tongue between your teeth.
